This layer is a georeferenced raster image of the historic paper map entitled: Island of Upolu : Samoan group, by the U.S. Ex. Ex. 1839 ; R.H. Wyman Capt. U.S.N. Hydrographer to the Bureau of Navigation ; engraved by J. Knight, Philad[a]. It was published by the Hydrographic Office in 1871. Cor. Aug. 1871. Scale [ca. 1:160,000]. Covers Upolu, Samoa. The image inside the map neatline is georeferenced to the surface of the earth and fit to the 'Mercator' projection. All map collar and inset information is also available as part of the raster image, including any inset maps, profiles, statistical tables, directories, text, illustrations, index maps, legends, or other information associated with the principal map. This map shows features such as drainage, towns and other human settlements, buildings, shoreline features, points, rocks, harbors, entrances, and more. Relief is shown by hachures. Depths shown by soundings. Includes profile and notes.
