Automatic Identification System (AIS): greater than 50 vessels per 250 x 250-meter grid cell in 2008
- This dataset documents the density of vessel tracks during 2008 in the Massachusetts ocean management planning area and adjacent waters for commercial vessels greater than 299 tons. CZM extracted areas where greater than 50 vessels were recorded over the duration of the year 2008 in a 250 x 250-meter grid cell. The raw data were provided courtesy of Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. Applied Science Associates (ASA) analyzed the raw data to create a raster grid. CZM created this dataset from the raster produced by ASA.
