Plate 1 is the geologic map of the state and depicts highways, railroads, political boundaries, communities, rock formations, glacial deposits, faults, and other geologic formations. Plate 1 includes five ancillary maps: Quadrangle map -- County map showing Indian reservations and National Parks -- Physiographic features -- Major tectonic features -- Major faults. Plate 2 consists of unit descriptions and provides supporting and complementary information including the correlation chart of surface rocks with generalized lithologic information.
