First 6 and last 6 pages blank (included in page description). Engraved frontispiece, title page, head and tail-pieces throughout. Biblical passages on frontispiece and title page. Dedication, introductory text. Descriptive text accompanies maps; descriptive text on some maps. Decorative cartouches, bar scales, compass roses, coats of arms, dedications. Maps show topography, vegetation, waterways, ports, routes. Illustrations of topography, settlements, biblical scenes featuring figures (e.g. soldiers, angels), flora, fauna, ships, sea monsters. Some map titles taken from descriptive text, indicated below in square brackets. Maps 1 and 15 show cities engulfed in flames: Zeboim, Sodom, Gomorah, Admah. Map 17 is a city plan; Maps 18, 20 are architectural plans; Map 19 is a bird's eye view; Map 24 is an interior view; Map 26 is an illustration of cultural customs; Map 27 is an illustration of Jewish biblical history; Map 28 is an illustration of religious objects. Latin on maps. This copy has pencil inscription inside front cover: 38; and notations regarding atlas contents. Book plate inside front cover: Thos. Beale. Numerous misprinted pages, e.g. page 51 misprinted as 50.
