- Sutton Nicholls sculp. Relief shown pictorially. North oriented toward upper left of sheet. Index. Decorative cartouche, British shield, compass rose, lion, unicorn. Shows the Great Wall, topography, waterways, including drainage. 2 inset maps: This draught of the country to the N.E. of China is made according to the memoirs of Martini the Jesuite &c.; This draught of the country to the NNE, and East of China is according to the memoirs of Verbiest the Jesuite. Appears in Wells’ A new sett of maps of ancient and present geography, Oxford, 1700. This copy has pencil inscription in lower left: 18. Watermark.
