- This map section, Pietermaritzb'g, forms part of the Map of the colony of Natal. Map of the Pietermaritzburg area from Impahlazini in the north to Umbogintwani Station in the South, showing cities and towns, roads, railways, telegraph and telephone lines, county boundaries, magisterial divisions, mission stations, trigonometrical points, magistrate's offices, reserve boundaries, farm boundaries, farm names and numbers, African "locations" with names of clan leaders, rivers and mountains. Relief shown by shading. Collective title, Map of the colony of Natal, from Durban (North Coast) and Scale sections; section title, Pietermaritzb'g, from cover. Coordinates approximate and based on Greenwich meridian. Bar scale on map given in "Miles." Legend beneath title. The map folds into an outer cover.
