This point dataset represents the major cities and some inhabited areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Included are: the Capital, Chief town of Province, Chief town of Territory, Head of the District and some villages that are in the forest areas. DIAF has used the geo referenced map produced by UCL and maps produced by the Geographic Institute of Congo to identify inhabited places.
